Menstrual Toxic Shock Syndrome (MTSS) AWARENESS DAY - March 30th
On January 12, 2026, a historic step forward in the fight to raise awareness of menstrual Toxic Shock Syndrome (mTSS) has been achieved. New Jersey has officially designated March 30 of every year for the awareness of this womens life threatening illness.
This law honors Madalyn’s life and the efforts to make sure other families have access to the information that could save a life. Each year on March 30, we can come together to educate, raise awareness, recognize the warning signs of mTSS, and promote safe menstrual health practices.

MADALYN'S LAW
Madalyn's Law would establish mandatory, age-appropriate mTSS education in grades 5-12 and warning signs in all public restrooms and feminine hygiene vending machines as well as in public restrooms.
Madalyn's Law is replicated in both the Senate and Assembly in order to have representation from both parties.
mTSS MEDICAL QUESTIONS ACT
The mTSS Medical Questions Act is a Bill that would require all medical professionals seeing female patients of menstruating age presenting with gastritis and/or flu-like symptoms ask individuals two vital questions that can save lives.
The bill states health care professionals be reeducated on mTSS and its warning signs. Providers will be required to discuss mTSS during well visits and in addition have informational literature to be available in medical offices. This ensures that both patients and healthcare professionals have access to potentially life-saving information.
